Corporate Social Resposibility
The relationship between a good corporate citizen and its environs is symbiotic. This is why Forte Oil has supported and donated towards worthy causes and programmes in Nigeria.
1. Donations
The company makes annual donations to charity organizations/homes, individuals and schools for the physically challenged.
2. Supporting Safety and Security Drive
Forte Oil donated 10,000 crash helmets free to commercial motorcycle riders nationwide in 2010.
3. Sports
Forte Oil was the Sole Sponsor of the National Badminton Championships and the Nigerian Ladies’ Golf Tournaments for almost two decades (1970s - 1990s).
Forte Oil currently sponsors the Rivers State Annual Squash Racket championship, and regularly assists the Lagos Island Games, Nigeria Union of Journalists’ Games, and the Lagos Island Gareeta Carnival.
4. Awards
Forte Oil Plc, (formerly African Petroleum) was recently, awarded the Best Socially Responsible Oil Marketing Company in the 2011 CSR award.
Forte Oil's recognition is an outcome of its various CSR initiatives undertaken within its operating community; namely donation of crash helmet to the bike riders community (popularly known as Okadas) as well as activities within its host community Apapa in Lagos state.
